InfoPro Home > Training & Tutorials > Research Tips When searching news sources, did you know that there’s a difference between the two segments PUBLICATION and PUB?PUBLICATION includes all third-party identifying information, while PUB only pulls back the actual publication name. For example, conducting the search PUBLICATION(Financial Times) will generate results that include the journal Pension Management, because the Financial Times publishes it. Conversely, if you construct the search as PUB(Financial Times), Pension Management does not appear in the answer set. Only Financial Times will be in the results. Keep this in mind as you construct your search and determine if you want to be more or less inclusive.
